2026 Screenplay by Galen R. Collins - WGA #2359183
Logline After surviving a brutal dog attack as a boy, a young man finds healing among shelter dogs—until his compassion for abused animals twists into a deadly crusade against their owners. Synopsis Traumatized by a brutal dog attack as a boy, Danny Mercer grows up scarred, isolated, and afraid of the animals that nearly killed him. Years later, volunteering at an animal shelter—and an unlikely bond with a Golden Retriever named Cerebra—helps him confront his fear. But as Danny witnesses cruelty toward the animals he has come to protect, compassion turns to obsession, and he begins delivering his own brutal form of justice. What began as a journey of healing becomes something far darker, forcing Danny to confront the beast he has unleashed within himself. Themes Trauma, compassion, and isolation shape Danny’s search for healing, but his need to protect the vulnerable gradually becomes an obsession with justice. As protector becomes predator, the story asks where compassion ends—and the beast within begins. Format & Audience • Format: Film ( 90 minutes) • For fans of: Pyscho and Taxi Driver
